Well, I don't know how many of you on my flist have been following the recent deluge of fics coming from the Inception fandom. As far as I'm concerned, my addiction to Joseph Gordon-Levitt has spiralled out of control and I've been reading a huge amount of Eames/Arthur fanfics these last two weeks.

Here is my first rec, a University AU by [info]onelittlesleep : here is the first part and here the second part. Both NC-17 like wow.

I conjure you, even though you haven't seen Inception, and you don't even now who the fuck Eames/Arthur or Tom Hardy/Joseph Gordon-Levitt are (well, here, you should check, since they're both incredibly talented actors, and also very very gorgeous) to read this fic. For all the H/D shippers on my flist (and no, I'm not leaving HP) this is a beautifully written PWP with porn so hot and wet and needy that it reminds me of what was published on [info]pornish_pixies a long time ago. DO TRY IT.

It's past 2 a.m and I should be sleeping but I just couldn't stop reading this fabulous fic at [info]hd_holidays Draco Malfoy, It's Your Lucky Day. It's 37k but it's truly worth it. A very clever plot, great adventure, insecure Draco and flirty Harry, and an unforgettable love scene in a cheesy 80s setting - or was it all a dream? Go read it! And have a look at [info]bookshop 's comments (yes, there are several of them:))). She was the lucky recipient, and her review is pure gold!

Happy new Year to everyone!

This fic is recced everywhere, i'm still awfully busy, but I just wanted to pay homage to the author.

Don't be afraid by the length (42k), don't be afraid by the AU (it is a mix between HP and 'Wicked Gentlemen").  Blood and Brimstone at

[info]hd_career_fairis a real masterpiece and you'll be sucked into this universe from the first paragraph.

If you want to know more about how I feel about the fic, I commented here. I'm just in awe. And even if the end is perfect, how I'd like to know what happens next.

I've been awfully busy these last weeks and I haven't been able to read half the fics at  [info]hd_career_fair , therefore it's a small miracle I had the chance to read the one that had been posted today. All that I can say is: go read it.

The fic is absolutely stunning. You've got Draco as a magical luthier, Harry is taking care of very naughty owls, and the author has crafted a unique and compelling universe. Simply let yourself immersed in a world of poetry and music.

I'm very late in discovering this and it has already been recced everywhere, but I've read this story last night and it has haunted me the whole day. For those who don't usually read this pairing (Draco/Albus), well, I don't either, but please give it a try. Be aware however that there are very serious warnings coming with this fic (NO major character death) and you'd like to check them before reading.

Almost anything I could say would be spoilery, so I just want to add that  [info]potteresque_ire  has succeeded here in creating a particularly eerie but fascinating dystopian universe. Her writing is exquisite, the characters unforgettable. Some parts are really disturbing, but the fic is not without hope, although I would not recommend this fic if you feel low.

Memoria In Aeterna

The fic was a gift for  [info]melusinahp  written for [info]hp_sas, and thanks to [info]marguerite_26  's enthusiastic recs, I've finally yielded to the temptation of Draco/Albus and Harry/Scorpius! To be honest, I'm on the verge of admitting that Draco/Harry/Albus/Scorpius might be, in fact, the perfect pairing. *is ashamed*

GIRLS, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT IT WAS THERE, AT  [info]hp_sas  THAT ALL THE PORN HAD GONE!!!

OMG. There're some filthy and absolutely delicious fics out there. I'll be reading the whole lot in the following days.

Just have a look, this is Draco, Art Nouveau Style, in a very sensual pose (rated PG for partial nudity), inspired by some of Mucha's drawings, I think, and it is exquisite.

My prompt for  [info]hd_fanart</lj>  has just been submitted! I can't believe how lucky I am to receive such beautiful art :)

This is an interpretation of the good old cliché of Auror!Harry picking up Whore!Draco, and well, I don't know who could resist this smug Draco, with his shirt open on a chiselled chest :) Certainly not Harry, even though he tries to play the tough Auror. The artist made a great job of suggesting sexual tension and I love how the whole scene is bathed in a strange blue light, which adds a mysterious touch to the otherwise sexy and angry mood.

And you know the best: there's a fic to come with the artwork!!! Thank you so much.

Title: How Much?

Notes: Not as angsty as it should be, maybe, but there is a fic attached. Later.

I'll just add that I'm really sorry not to post or comment more these times but I'm totally snowed under with work until the middle of October. I promise I'll make up for it later :(

Hello everyone, I'm back in style with a rec :)

One of my prompt for hd_inspired "Back to School" fest was claimed and here is the amazing result. The fic is called "Burn, Burn" and I can't say how happy I am with it. First of all, it is a wonderful fic, beautifully written, with a creative imagery and a poignant story. If you love hurt/comfort, if you're a sucker for a defeated and tortured Draco, this fic is clearly for you. But please, don't be deter by the warnings: yes, there are some disturbing elements, but the author managed to deal with self-harm and bondage in a convincing and plausible way. Draco is in pain, but there is hope too. The relation between the boys is perfectly in character, and the ending promises a new beginning for both of them.

Finally, on a more personal note, I must say to the author how grateful I am for the way she handled my prompt. I know that the fest is not exactly a gift fest, but not only did she (?) manage to use all of my "requests", but she took special care in adding references that showed she had at least checked my LJ for some favourites of mine. That means a lot to me. In fact, when I saw the fic was called "Burn, Burn" and that she used Lostprophets' lyrics in the opening part, I was so excited I thought I wouldn't be able to read the fic. I was literally shaking with anticipation. I hope it's the same for you now :)

Fic: Burn, Burn (NC17)
Author: Anonymous
Title: Burn, Burn
Pairing(s): H/D
Rating: NC-17
Summary: The tireless dance of the flame, random and hypnotic, burned Draco’s retinas but he refused to look away. Closer, closer he reached until his palm hovered above the tiny flame. Three, two, then one inch away.
Warnings (if any): Disturbing imagery, self-mutilation, light bondage
Total word count: 9,800

The  [info]hd_worldcup  reveals have finally been posted. I had a fabulous time reading and commenting, and I’d like to thank once more all the authors. In fact I still have a few fics to read, and I expect to do so in the following weeks. I had a few guesses right (generally the same as anybody else). Of course I couldn’t guess the fic  [info]furiosity  wrote since I haven’t read it yet *headdesk*. I finally discovered who wrote "Did You Know I'm Naked Underneath This T-Shirt" And Other Great Hits: it was [info]bribitribbit. I was right to imagine the author was also a Libertines’ fan :) And bravo to [info]scrtkpr who wrote two fabulous fics Still Life in Wood and Parchment and the amazing Perfect Day.  I hope you don’t consider leaving fandom anymore. Finally, yes  [info]frayach  did write Breaking all the Rules. I’m so happy.

On quite another topic, I realize I go to gigs almost once a week and I never review. I don’t think many people on my flist are interested but, well, yesterday was Mystery Jets and it was great.

Since everybody is doing this, I’d like to offer my small reclist for [info]hd_worldcup: )

I must say however that I haven’t finished reading all the fics, which means I may add some other titles before the reveal…if I have the time *sigh* I must also clarify that there are fics that I didn’t read on purpose ie any fic that involved the death of Harry or Draco and more generally fics without at least a hopeful ending. As a consequence, I’ve probably read less fics from Team Canon than from any other team *sigh again*.

More generally I must emphasize that the fest was a real treat. I was amazed by the quality of the fics and art, and the obvious effort everybody had made to take up the challenge. I know some people found it was too much at a time, and that the fics were too long. Well, even though I was unable to keep my head above water, I won’t complain. I enjoy long fics (15k and more) and it’s a real pleasure for me to know that I’m going to spend some time in a particular universe. My only problem is that I have withdrawal symptoms between the fests :) I love to be in a land of plenty, where you have the luxury of choosing which fic you’re going to read first…

Finally, I was pleasantly surprised by Team Epilogue (I am a EWE girl at heart). I must confess that I was a bit prejudiced before the fest since I was already tired of the infidelity/divorce scenario and thought I couldn’t bear reading it anymore. In fact I was quite delighted to see that the authors not only succeeded in inventing totally new concepts, but that they often opted for the hopeful ending, which was rather unexpected (I suspect they found it so difficult to deal with the Epilogue AND introduce some H/D that they didn’t want their efforts to be in vain :))

So thank you so much to all the authors and artists and all the teams. As a reader, I had a great time and I truly hope it was the same for you.

I've been away for almost two weeks and I am only beginning to catch up with [info]hd_worldcup

Since I am so well behind, you've probably read it already, but I want to rec it with a triple YES:

Title: Breaking all the Rules
Team: Epilogue
Prompt: The Hierophant
Wordcount: 22,800
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Crack!fic, swinging, boys in pink knickers and kitty-ears, rimming, and a couple exceedingly brief het sex scenes
Summary: Malfoy is slowly wringing the last vestiges of pleasure from Harry’s life with all his rules and committees and agendas and reports. Or is he?

I commented on the fic here. If you don't read Epilogue fics, or are anxious about unhappy endings, please give it a try. This is pure madness, and pure joy. You've got some of the funniest lines I've ever read in a fic, and some of the greatest smut too, a combination that is not so frequent. I should add that there is also true H/D here with UST, unabashed desire, mutual feelings and even though this is not your obvious choice for a happy ending, even less in an Epilogue fic, it works, and pretty well as a matter of fact.

[info]furiosity has an interesting discussion going on here about voting and commenting for the [info]hd_worldcup. Since I have wanted for several days to discuss the same topic, I gave a much too detailed answer to her post here

I'd like to know your opinion on the subject: is it possible to objectively evaluate 4 fics in competition when there is, almost inevitably, things you won't like, or things you won't read, for highly personal and then unfair reasons (for example mpreg, veela!Harry, infidelity, character death etc...)?

*ponders*

For once I'll be reccing a nice Christmassy story. No ambitious plot here, no special effects, no showing off, almost no smut. It's just a short and kind of dreamylike fic, with a somehow dubious premise -Draco becomes Harry's secretary after the war and he's very devoted to him - but it works and it's a really nice read.

Last Christmas : H/D, past Harry/Ginny, PG-13.

And no, I'm not reccing this for the title (Wham! forever!!!).

Hum, sorry.

Ok, it's 3.00 am. I'm dead. But I have to rec this: please go and give some love to this Secret Santa:

Kiss A Boy In London Town (And Other Intimate Misadventures Of A Society Whore): h/d, NC-17, Warnings: Prostitution, semi-epilogue compliant.

This is maybe my favourite fic of the fest.

I can't even describe the utter amazingness of this fic: let me just tell you that you will find:

-Draco as A-Whore-But-Yes-I-Love-Sex-Thank-You-And-I-Love-Money-Too-So-What-Is-Your-Problem-Exactly?

-Scorpius as The-Child-You-Want-To-Have-Yes-You-Who-Loathe-Children,

-Sophie as Draco's-French-Ex-Wife-And-Yes-She-Is-Fantastic-And-Yes-You-Love-OC,

-and of course... Harry Potter as the Virgin-Who-Decided-He-Will-Try-And-Have-Sex-With-Men-And-OMG-It-Is-Draco-And-I-Hate-Him-But-Fuck-He-Is-Gorgeous.

I go to bed.

Two recs from [info]merry_smutmas, maybe not to everyone's taste but with plenty of hot kinky sex and both very well written:

You Didn't Think They Just Sold It To Him, Did You?: Weasley Twins/Draco, NC-17, Warnings: Non-con/dub-con with S/M trappings; please read all the warnings to make sure, it's not a fluffy fic.  Summary: From HBP Chapter 29: "...the moment he saw us he threw something into the air and it all went pitch-black -" "- Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder," said Ron bitterly. "Fred and George's. I'm going to be having a word with them about who they let buy their products."

I've got a secret fascination for this pairing. Here you'll find the twins at their worst, cruel, imaginative and pitiless. Whereas I greatly enjoy a snarky and arrogant Malfoy, it's also a pleasure to see him debased, needy and totally helpless. It's mostly PWP of course, but in this category, it's really masterfully done. Make sure you're alone for this one, it's really really hot.

Wandlore: Harry/Draco with a bit of Severus Snape on the side, NC-17, Warnings:BDSM, to include "the basics," plus a very tiny bit of bloodplay. Summary: Harry has a bit of a wand problem. Draco may be able to help him with the solution.

This is a wondeful fic. Contrary to the previous one, it's not a PWP. On the contrary, this is a very nuanced and believable take at Harry's future after DH. I found the fic made great use of canon, especially in the first part, when Harry gave Draco his wand back. I wasn't so sure about the wandlore theory (especially the use of BDSM to shift dominance) but it was well done and the sex part was guh. The side characters - Kreacher and Snape - are hilarious, and add a nice touch to the fic. And for once the author tried to deal with Harry's relationship with Ginny without bashing her or rushing the issue. A very good story.

Since the beginning of the fests, I've tried to cope with reading both [info]merry_smutmas and [info]hd_holidays. Let's say that it went well at first and that I'm beginning to fall behind. I'm reading almost only h/d, but even here there are fics I've not read yet for various reasons: too long, or it seemed depressing at the time, or it was epilogue compliant and I didn't want to deal with that at the time and so on...I hope I'll be able to catch up soon.
